Shorty's great way to ease into Bandon
Talk about a great business model. Have a 9 hole par 3 course that is free for people to enjoy as they get to Bandon.
A must if you arrive a day early to Bandon. Hit the range and putting green to get acclimated to Oregon, then go play this great little short course without out a hole over 145. Helps you really get the feel for the different types of shots you need at Bandon.
The greens are crazy exactly the same as the other courses with crazy humps and bumps.
Great Shorty's
Shorty's was my first stop when I arrived at Bandon. It was the perfect introduction to the facility.
Great layout, gives you the chance to get a feel for how hard the championship courses will be, without being too difficult.
It just an awesome par 3 course! It is right next to the massive practice green (size of half a football field). The driving range is there as well.
Shorty's doesn't seem to get a lot of love, but lots of fun!
Great little practice course
Shorty's is a short little par 3 course at the Bandon Dunes practice center. It's very well put together for a free course. The architecture is spot on and makes you hit a variety of shots. My group took 3 irons and a putter and played a leisurely afternoon round. It's a great spot to practice your game from 150 yards in with clubs you normally wouldn't use. If you're at Bandon, don't skip Shorty's!
