Poorly Managed Course Leads to Extremely Slow Play
The last two times I've played this course the round has been extremely slow. 5+ hours. To be fair the second round I quit after 4:15 minutes with 4 holes to go and still waiting to tee off. The course is in good shape. Either the Marshall who claims to have been there for 27 years has no power or doesn't care. Either way I blame the management. They overcrowd tee times. I observed them being demeaning to staff. When I complained I was given a raincheck for the back nine. Sounds reasonable, except giving me the opportunity to play 9 holes another day that I've already paid for and never got to play doesn't really make me feel like you care that I wasted my time. I have no plans to go back. There are a lot of other courses to play with management who really cares about the customer experience. I'm not the only one, look more at the reviews.
If you have any plans to travel and play this course.. DON’T
While the reviews looked promising from many online feeds, this place was NOT worth the money. $57 with a cart to play a course which had grass nearly two inches thick on each tee box giving you the feeling on par 3’s that you’re hitting a ball out of a flyer lie. There was no mention that the greens had been punched recently and the top dressing made putting feel as if you were rolling the ball in a litter box.
My buddies and I wanted to experience a few different courses throughout the Willamette Valley, and while this course offers some pretty views, the conditions, price and distance should deter anyone from traveling to come play this course. OGA in Woodburn offers a competitive twilight rate and has conditions which are immensely better.
Think twice before you play here.
All around great!
Cross Creek is amazing! Staff so friendly and welcoming. We are spoiled here in OR to have so many quality courses like this onel
This course reminds me of Pumpkin Ridge, w/ the rolling hills and farm land. Great layout w/ variety of holes.
Greens were in fantasic shape, firm and fast. Lots of elevation changes, and a challenging walk.
Nice day
Nice day on the course. Been quite awhile since I’d played at Cross Creek. Course was in very good condition, from tee to green. Staff was friendly. Booked directly through the course and was a bit pricey compared to deals that I’ve been fortunate to get lately, so probably due. The group ahead of us was quite slow (beyond slow honestly) - but to the marshal’s credit - he visited them twice and informed them of the cue of groups forming behind them. It’s tough to knock a course down in rating, because of what some of their customers are doing. It’s really not the courses fault. The third time the marshal visited the group ahead of us, that group disappeared and cleared the way for the remaining two holes of our round back to normal pace of play. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I hope for a bit better deal? Yes, who wouldn’t.
Good job to the staff or CCGC, very well maintained course.
OAK SAVANNAH BEAUTY
Wonderful play today at Cross Creek. Very well maintained, challenging and an all round great day on the course. The back 9 is extremely lovely if you like wide open vistas. All well manicured. Excellent amenities even if appear simple. All you need is here except maybe an ice chest on your cart. But there is plenty of cold water on the course . Cant wait to play there again.
Not bad considering all the rain
Finally a sunny day in Oregon so my buddies and I went down and played Cross Creek. It has rained a ton here this winter/spring so we knew going in the course was going to be soft, but the fairways were actually in pretty good shape considering all the rain. We were impressed. Love the layout of the course, and the feel of the course. The greens were in amazing shape. Guys inside were nice and cordial. Would gladly drive back down and play again.
I would have rated this an excellent rating except it was somewhat sloppy and wet due to the normal Oregon rains.
The proshop folks are always friendly and helpfull. They maintain a very nice course. Always good value for you buck.
Long from the blues, but pretty wide open.
Course is always fun to play, but I booked my tee time using Golfnow mobile application and that was a mistake. There is nowhere in the application that tells you whether you are booking for 18 holes or 9 holes. As a result, the tee time I picked was for 9 and the rate was different when I arrived at the course. This app is unreliable and I would stick to the computer version if you want to use Golfnow.
