BEND, Ore. -- River's Edge Golf Course offers some of the best golf vacations in central Oregon.
It's a spectacular course, but don't expect an easy walk. Waterfalls and steep slopes are signatures on many holes. The mountain setting contributes to the many elevations and narrow fairways.
Located on the banks of the beautiful Deschutes River, River's Edge was featured in Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play." This Robert Muir Graves design -- a par 72, 18-hole course -- offers breathtaking scenery, including the aforementioned waterfall on no. 6 and great views of Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood and Smith Rock. Golfers of all skill levels will appreciate the multiple tees.
A driving range with target greens, natural grass tees and free range clubs, a pro shop and private lessons round out the River's Edge experience. The River's Edge Cafe -- with its wide variety of food and beverages and a big screen TV -- is a great post-round stop.
