ALOHA, Ore. -- It doesn't take long to figure out there's something special about The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club.
There are two courses (one is for private members and their guests and the other is for the public and resort guests), and they alternate between being public and private.
If you get a chance to play the North Course, be thankful. The 6,845-yard par-72 Bob Cupp design opened in 1998. It's a modern-style layout with rolling mound and difficult green, but there aren't as many bunkers as its sister South Course. There is, however, a triple green (nos. 8, 10 and 17).
The Reserve hosted the PGA Tour's JELD-WEN Tradition from 2003-06 and has received a four-and-a-half-star rating from Golf Digest since 2002.
Other amenities at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club include a 40,000-square-foot clubhouse, including the Vintage Room Restaurant (which serves the club's own private label of wine), a 15-acre driving range with grass tees and a golf-teaching academy.
